Just when you think you know where the story of Rose and Christian is going, author Tish Thawer adds several twists and turns to the storyline for book two of the Rose Trilogy.
Actually, I love when an author puts in surprises which takes the reader to a place they hadn’t even considered. I should also add that I definitely appreciate this author including several POVs of og characters because it gives the reader an insight into the character’s motivation. I don’t like spoilers, but the relationship changes going on between Rose and Christian cause me to wish that the third book in the series was available now. I love HEAs and right now am questioning if that is going to be possible for Rose and Christian, but have faith that the author knows the best “fork in the road” to take for them.
This book was way to short! But seriously, I loved it. I can’t wait for the third book to come out already! I have to know what happens between Christian and Rose.
I loved the character development in this book, especially Rose. Christian and Evie were interesting too. I was sad that Jillian was mostly absent in this book. The storyline was smooth and I read it quickly.
I was less of a fan of all the P. Overall roes was a great sequel to a great debut. It is definitely worth a read: Demons and Vampires that function with ease in the human realm is handled very nicely in this second book in the trilogy. It is well written with some interesting developments and an interesting finish. What exactly has Christian done and what will be the outcome. Rose is after all roes.
This is a very good series and I look forward to seeing how it ends. Book delivered digitally to my device. This was a great story and left you with a great cliffhanger. Cannot wait until the next one to find out how this all ends.
Defiantly keeps you on your toes. Stephanie Bentley did a pretty good job narrating Blood of a Red Rose. I mentioned last time that I itsh blown away by her narration and I think I know why now – she speaks so slow and evenly, maintaining the same pace regardless of emotion. She still does a good job rde characters varied voices, but I think her pacing strips away a bit of the characters’ personalities and makes them seem a little flatter than they would be if you were reading.
I continue to really like the vampire mythology in this series. It’s fresh and different, especially considering that we’re dealing with vampires – I’ve seen it all and yet, this thawef something different.
I particularly like the way the vampires drift and I’m interested to see how things will develop with Rose and Christian, especially with how Blood of a Red Rose ended.
I’m really enjoying the parts of the story told from Meredith’s point of view.
The Rose Trilogy by Tish Thawer
Yes, she’s the “bad guy”, but she’s complex and not so black-and-white. I’m not sure I’m supposed to feel this way, but I find her sympathetic and I wonder how the story will wrap up where’s she’s concerned. I believe that she really loves Rose’s father and I think you can see a real contrast between her and the other bad demons – she’s not quite as power hungry. Tuawer wonder if the last book will give us a twist. Rose and Christian’s relationship is working a lot better for me in Blood of a Red Rose.
Now that they’re basically living together their relationship has a lot more complexity besides the “let’s make out” of Scent of a White Rose. They have real conversations and real problems. It made them a lot more interesting to read and a lot easier to root for.

I mean is anyone really so good? I like the complexity of Boood and wish that they had a similar complexity. I still like them, they just could be more interesting.
Rose is stubbornly keeping secrets and I’m a little annoyed by it – even if I know it’s important to the story. I think that, in her situation, she would have seen the necessity of telling what’s up! She also hasn’t grown up quite enough for me – ghawer she’s doing way better. She still said some things that made my eyes roll and made me think, “Am I really supposed to believe she’s 21?
I really like the way this trilogy is developing and based on the major cliff hanger Blood of a Red Rose ended on, the last book is going to be even better! I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.
Rose and Christisn’s story continues as Christian has developed signs that he may be the coven’s new Sire. He and Rose are in hiding after they believe that they have killed Meridith, Rose’s father’s girlfriend.
What he doesn’t know is that she is the one who od his wife. The coven discovers that Meridith is alive and that she is slowly building an army of demon descendants in order to take revenge on Rose and Christian.
Meanwhile Jeremy Rose’s father continues his search for Rose although not too actively in my opinionand Rose stresses over the secret that she is hiding and whether she should tell the coven and her father or not. Tish continues with her wonderful story telling with even more twists in this book than in the previous book.
I love the change of POV that she uses in her writing of this book. I like seeing the story from both sides, and she pulls it off well so that it doesn’t feel like a bog down.
The steamy scenes continue as the body count rises. The o thing that I don’t enjoy about these books is the cliff hanger endings. One person found this helpful. See all tgawer reviews.
