I finished my Spitfire in 35 hours. However, once everything is attached the completed wing is a robust structure.
Next up a couple of pictures of the fuselage sides tapped together. The cockpit is exquisite. Putty in your hands.
Hopefully I’ll make a start on it next week. Decals are provided for two RAF and one French aircraft. The blemish-free canopy was extremely clear. These fit together so well that glue is not required to hold them together but I used some Tamiya Extra Thin Cement which I capillaried into the joins just to hold them in place.

Very nice start Kev, there is some very nice looking detail in the mouldings, with the extra photo etch you have this is going to look amazing https: My primary reference was The Super-marine Spitfire, Part 1: The PE seemed to be quite thick and difficult to bend but a quick heating with a lighter until the metal changed colour soon made it a lot more malleable and the end result, once painted, is quite good. The sliding hood had a barely perceptible mold seam down the middle; I did not attempt to clean it off.
I have been concentrating on the cockpit for the past couple of weeks and although I have made some progress there is still a long way to go. Very nice indeed and will look fab with all the additions.
